Requests:

I’ve had several requests all over the web lately so I’m making one post just for them.  If you have a size, color, design, or any other request, please post it here.  I’d love to see what kinds of things everyone is interested in.

And, as incentive, I’ll give away a FREE SKIRT to one of the posters.  She’s welcome to any skirt on the blog now or future until she finds one she wants.  (And I’ll consider requests but can’t promise anything.)

Back to my next skirt… it’s a wrap!

Q & A for this post…

Q:  “So, it’s to just get style ideas? Certain types of skirts we’d like to see?”

A:  Style ideas, fabric ideas, sizes needed… I’m just winging whatever looks fun etc but if I make something that someone else would have liked in blue or green, or three sizes larger, or smaller… I might as well have done it! If I’m leaving out a particular style or something, I’d like someone to point that out so I can be more versatile.

  • I want a skirt design that looks good on a figure that has a small-ish waist, large-ish hips, and thin-ish legs. I want it to be a fabric that could be worn with a number of different colors and styles (denim, maybe?) and not look boring or frumpy. (denim with a ribbon trim?)

  • I love beautiful floral, soft feminine looking skirts (and I cant wait to get the dress for Abigail!)

  • I am not able to actually purchase a skirt at this time, but …

I would love to see more romantic skirts, with softer colors and much more girly, instead of sporty. Also, I particularly enjoy ankle length or floor length skirts.

And I have a waist measurement of 35 inches, and hip of 40 inches. Don’t know what size that is.

Soft , Floral, Long, large size….

    got that?? *cheesy grin*

The closest I could find to what I’d like to see is 23060, the shape of it is similar, but instead of the angle pointing up in the middle of the skirt, it would be pointing down, and the point would go to the bottom of the skirt with the flared fabric making a nice mermaid look on the bottom.

Haha, and if that made sense to you, then you’re amazing. ;) Black would be great. ;)

  • P.s, Cotton is my favorite fabric, all kinds of cotton… gauzy, stiff…

also linen is super nice too.

  • I would love a skirt that is flowing and full and will flatten my post surgery swollen tummy. As if that is possible!) I love the newer tiered skirts in soft fabric. Anything in a denim color but lightweight! Or maybe black as it would go with any color blouse! I love your ideas and color coordinations! Best wishes from one seamstress to another!

  • Lekala 5152, the top middle for utilitarian. Except closer to cargo pants, with the cargo pocket on each thigh, and in khaki. ;)

  • Neue Mode 23060 was the mermaid skirt.

  • I’d like some that are size 2ish to 4ish, calf-length on a petite with a ruffly-flair and looser flowing material.

I would also love something in a similar size that is denim or khaki but more “fun” than the typical denim and khaki skirts. Something I can easily wear for everyday, but can be dressed up for a family night out.

  • What style skirt would be best on a petite gal? I think a straight skirt looks better but I need to keep up with little ones and climb in the big van, lol. Any thoughts?

  • I’m thinking of a light summery material. (thinking of our hot carolina summers)I like the more romantic styles also in sizes 2-4. Either knee length or ankle length. :-)

  • Hmmmmm, I’m learning that I like more A-line skirts (no gathers or pleats), as these are good for those of us who do not want to appear pregnant when we are not! Pockets are a must. Always harder to find longer without high slits but still with room to move. Colors–I love “dusty” colors, or anything blue and white.

  • I am thinking a long romantic skirt in a guazy material. Something breazy in the summer. Thinking of walking on a beach in the upper northwest and my beach house is in Hemingway style.

Or.. Tencel.. I just love that stuff. I have a skirt from Coldwater Creek out of it. It is my favorite. It is actually denim but it feels so silky. It is long and A lined.. but larger at the bottom so its flowy. Ankle length. ahhh…

Neither skirt has elastic. Fitted waist with zipper. :)

  • I like long a-lines without slits in denim, khacki, and other twills. But I like them to be dolled up just a little. I need larger sizes 18, 20, 22.

  • Well, I would absolutely love a long flowy skirt. Something similar to this: http://www.newport-news.com/shop/product_single.aspx?style_id=28870137&cm_ven=datafeed&cm_cat=Bizrate&cm_pla=app&cm_ite=all&srccode=cii_10043468&cpncode=18-8823291-2
Size …. well, I’m embarrassed to say 2x but I have to if I want to participate…
Colors? Anything bright and cheery! :-D

  • I’d love to see the shape of Summer Cruisin’, but in a really classic color combo, like black with white edging. (Maybe even a tiny bit of lace?) Something where the fabric is simpler (even a small calico or gingham), so the shape of the skirt is really highlighted. (And a size 18 or so would be great!) :-) I LOVE the shape of this skirt. You’re amazing!

  • I would love to find something like this
    http://img.sewingtoday.com/cat/10000/itm_img/B5042.jpg
In a nice chambray that is cooler than denim but still sturdy enough.
I also just love skirts that look that you are floating on air.
I would love to see coulottes taht are fitted at the top (for us hipsters) but enough flare to them that they look like a skirt for the bike riding days…

  • I like cotton skirts, but I don’t like having to wear a slip with them! Prints and fabrics that will not become transparent in the sunlight would be terrific!

  • I was trying to find a link to something that is what I would like to see. I have a skirt that I like, it’s a little shorter than I usually wear, about mid-calf. It has upside-down “V” panels about mid-way down the skirt, that makes the ends sort of flare out a bit.

I’d also like to see some tiered skirts.
